Using & storing ZERUP

How do I use ZERUP?

Syrup first, water second: squeeze about 4 ml of ZERUP into a glass or bottle, add 500 ml of cold still or sparkling water and stir once. Use a little more or less to taste.

How much is 4 ml?

Roughly a short squeeze from the bottle, or a little less than one teaspoon (a teaspoon is about 5 ml).

Can I use ZERUP with sparkling water?

Yes. Orange, Cola Orange, First Heaven, Blackberry, Green Apple and Dragonfruit Passionfruit are especially good sparkling. The iced teas and Mango shine with still water.

Can I use ZERUP with a sparkling water maker?

Yes. Carbonate the water first, then add ZERUP. Adding syrup before carbonating can cause foaming.

Can I mix two flavours?

Yes. Use about 2 ml of each in 500 ml of water. Peach with Lemon Iced Tea and Mango with Dragonfruit Passionfruit are popular combinations.

How much ZERUP do I need for a jug?

About 16 ml for 2 litres at standard strength, or around 40 ml for 5 litres. For mocktails, many people go slightly stronger.

Can I use ZERUP in hot drinks, cooking or baking?

ZERUP is made for cold drinks. We don't recommend heating or baking with it.

Can I freeze ZERUP into ice cubes or ice lollies?

Yes. Mix a slightly stronger batch (about 10 ml per 500 ml of water) and freeze it in trays or moulds.

How should I store ZERUP?

Unopened, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sun and go by the date on the label. Once opened, close it and keep it in the fridge.

How long does an opened bottle last?

Once opened and kept closed in the fridge, ZERUP keeps for three months.

Can I leave ZERUP in my car?

Please don't. Car interiors in the UAE get extremely hot, which can affect taste and quality. Carry it in a bag and keep it cool.
